Overview

One operational platform across the airport hotel journey

Capsule Transit operates four hotel lots across Kuala Lumpur International Airport. CoderPush supports the product behind that operation: a centralized Hotel Management System connecting bookings, guests, payments, rooms, staff, reporting, and a growing smart-room experience.

The system is shared across the four lots while using location-aware access and configuration to keep each team focused on the rooms, guests, settings, and workflows relevant to its operation.

Challenge

Connect every moving part of a 24/7 airport hotel

Capsule Transit serves guests whose stays may be measured in hours rather than days. Hotel teams need to move quickly between walk-ins, OTA arrivals, direct bookings, payments, room readiness, shift handovers, access cards, and airport reporting.

The product needed to centralize operations across four lots while preserving location-specific permissions, pricing, and settings. It also had to support multiple staff roles and remain adaptable as Capsule Transit introduced a connected in-room experience.

  • Centralize bookings from walk-ins, OTAs, and Capsule Transit's hotel website.
  • Support room rates based on stay duration, room type, booking platform, season, and pricing tier.
  • Give managers, supervisors, front officers, and housekeepers the right operational access.
  • Connect with STAAH, Intego, Gatewaymall, and MAHB workflows.

Solution

A centralized HMS shaped around how the hotel actually operates

CoderPush helped build and evolve a centralized Hotel Management System shared across Capsule Transit's four operating lots.

  • Bring walk-in bookings, OTA reservations through STAAH, and direct website bookings into one operational workflow.
  • Support express and detailed booking flows, arrivals, room assignment, promotions, adjustments, split payments, and transfers between locations.
  • Provide role-based experiences for managers, supervisors, front officers, and housekeepers.
  • Connect booking, POS, guest, reporting, and administration modules with the hotel's physical operation.

Extending the HMS into the capsule itself

The Smart Control scope pairs a room tablet with the HMS, turning check-in and checkout into real in-room events—not just status changes on a screen.

  • Pair and manage room tablets from the HMS.
  • Unlock the guest experience after check-in, then reset and lock it after checkout.
  • Control adjustable beds, lighting presets, brightness, sound, and sleep timers.
  • Apply hotel-wide or room-level defaults and review device status and logs.

Building where the product is used

The CoderPush team visited Capsule Transit at KLIA to experience the product in its real operating environment and shape the next scope directly with the hotel team. Seeing the guest journey, room hardware, and front-desk operation firsthand helped test product assumptions against real devices, real rooms, and real edge cases.

Outcome

One operational foundation, from booking to the guest's room

Capsule Transit has a centralized product foundation connecting bookings, hotel teams, payments, rooms, reporting, operational integrations, and the emerging smart-room experience.

The partnership has also demonstrated its ability to respond under delivery pressure—from hardware SDK issues to a last-minute mobile platform change—while staying focused on getting the experience into real use.

Really happy that we've managed to push through whatever we needed for the remote control app—especially as we had to make a switch from iOS to Android at the last minute. It was pretty stressful on my end as we had a deadline and some new bugs from the hardware supplier's SDK, but I'm glad Oai had our back.

Hope your team enjoys working with us as much as we do with you guys.
